Studio Etiquette

The Rules of the Recording Studio

It is important to show professionalism in the Recording studio. It's respectful to the engineer and  to yourself. Preparation saves you embarassment. Here are a list of rules to remember when you enter the studio.


1. Pay upfront any required deposits and fees

2. Practice beforehand

3. Bring required materials on a thumb drive

4. Show up on time

5. No drinking or smoking (stay sober)

6. No food/drink near recording equipment

7. Dress decent

8. Limit the phone usage

9. Limit the amount of people in the studio 

10. Listen to the engineer 

11. Respect all other posted rules


Have your work prepared. Make sure you book enough time to record all necessary material. Time is money. You never know who's watching!
